Pediatric Neurohospitalist / Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital
Overview
Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is recruiting child neurologists, with special emphasis on inpatient care, for our expanding Child Neurology Program. The neuro-hospitalists are joined by advanced practice providers, adult and child neurology residents, and pediatric residents.
Inpatient care is organized into daytime and nighttime shifts, two weeks per month, with one week per month reserved for time off or research.
The Neurology department is part of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Institute for Brain Protection Sciences and collaborates with specialists in neurosurgery, neuroimaging, neuro-oncology, neuropsychology, and neuropathology. The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Child Neurology Residency Program is a five-year, ACGME-accredited program designed to train the next generation of pediatric neurologists.
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient pediatric neurology care on general floors and in critical care units (PICU, CVICU, NICU) as part of the Neurohospitalist service.
Review EEGs; formal EEG reports are performed by clinical neurophysiologists and epileptologists.
Collaborate with a team including advanced practice providers, residents, and other pediatric subspecialists.
Qualifications & Preferences
Comfort with reviewing EEGs; formal EEG reports are generated externally by clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy specialists.
Subspecialty training in neuro-critical care and stroke is encouraged.
Interest in research is strongly supported; eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (rank open and commensurate with experience).
Programs & Department
The Neurology department currently consists of 10 members with expertise in epilepsy, neuromuscular, headache, neurocutaneous, neuro-oncology, and hospital care. The faculty participate in the education of neurology, neurosurgery, and pediatrics residents and fellows.
Compensation & Appointment
Salary is highly market-competitive. An academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is available with rank commensurate with experience. An interest in research is strongly supported.
