Project Manager
Job: Construction Project ManagerLocation: Hybrid; Lenexa, KSAnticipated compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 (plus performance bonuses)We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction project teams on small- to large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a deep understanding of construction project management principles, and have the ability to work collaboratively with our clients, engineering, construction, and commissioning teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.Project Managers provide project teams with strategic direction, leadership, and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery. They ensure efficiency by coordinating tasks and resources and successfully delivering construction projects on time, within budget, and to all stakeholders' satisfaction. They drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and methodologies, mentor and develop junior project management staff, mitigate risks and resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle, and monitor project performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery.Responsibilities:Pre-construction planning, procurement, budgeting, and buyout that minimize risk while ensuring successful implementation.Strategic Planning before mobilization and throughout constructionOn-time and on-budget delivery of large-scale, technically complex construction projects.Own, document, and manage risks and opportunities from pre-construction through closeout.Utilize innovative project management strategies to drive excellence.Ensure strong stakeholder engagement and satisfaction with project outcomes.Manage day-to-day project activities, including procurement and coordination of materials and resources.Coordinate and communicate progress to stakeholders, including owner, architect/engineer, and contractor facilitation & management.Develop a broad range of relationships with multiple trade subcontractors and design teams.Prime contract and change order management & execution.Subcontract negotiations, preparation, and change order management.Maintain accurate job cost projections.Pursue and encourage others to participate in training and development opportunities within the company and using outside resources.Participate in professional associations for construction and pursue expanding professional networking relationships.Other duties as requiredQualifications & Skills:Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.5+ years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems in commercial, institutional, and public sector facilities.Familiarity with energy efficiency, retro-commissioning, and mechanical and electrical systems, and willingness to learn new solutions and technologies.Experience with the Design-Build and Integrated Project Delivery Methods.Exceptional leadership and strategic planning abilities.Expertise in advanced project management techniques and methodologies.Experience managing construction projects in diverse environments and regulatory frameworks.Proficiency in pre-construction, risk analysis, scope writing, and management.Strong financial acumen for budgeting and cost control.Excellent decision-making, communication and negotiation skills.Effective leadership and team-building skills, including inspiring and motivating project teams.Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.Ability to build, manage, and maintain relationships with stakeholders.Familiarity with construction safety protocols and practices.Understanding of construction techniques and materials.Advanced ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP).Advanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Premier, Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.).Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Docs.Strong understanding of Lean project delivery practices.Travel is required 10% of the time.If you're interested in a role and can see yourself doing a great job, don't let a few missing qualifications stop you from applying.Our Commitment to You:At Millig, we believe in providing flexibility and work-life balance.
