Culinary Services Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Culinary Services Manager to lead our food service operations at the Hilltop Campus, a long‑term care community dedicated to exceptional resident support. In this leadership role, you’ll guide all aspects of our culinary program—including menu planning, food preparation, and daily kitchen operations—to ensure residents receive nutritious, high‑quality meals tailored to their dietary needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
Implement and manage the menu platform.
Oversee meal preparation and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain inventory control, ordering supplies efficiently while managing food costs.
Establish and maintain relationships with food suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality ingredients, cost-effective purchasing, and timely deliveries.
Ensure compliance with New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), USDA, and FDA regulations.
Maintain sanitation and food safety standards, including HACCP protocols.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to health codes.
Hire, train, and supervise kitchen and dietary staff, fostering a positive work environment.
Develop staff schedules to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Provide ongoing training on food safety, nutrition, and customer service.
Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare teams to accommodate residents' dietary needs.
Engage with residents to gather feedback and enhance meal satisfaction.
Organize special events and themed meals to enrich the dining experience.
Participates in planned events, open houses and marketing goals to meet the organization’s strategic plans.
Complete assigned reporting.
Oversees billing and invoice management as it relates to the Dining Services department to ensure procurement and timely coding enabling the organization to achieve the maximum benefit from group purchasing contract(s).
Participate in scheduled meetings with facility management, healthcare teams, and other departments as required.
Support facility needs with other assigned tasks related to culinary services, ensuring operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS

Supervisory experience, including directing Admissions staff
Ability to interpret regulations, prepare reports, and develop business correspondence
Professional presentation skills when engaging residents, families, and staff
Desired Experience
Culinary degree or equivalent experience in food service management (preferred but not required)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Knowledge of NYS health regulations, dietary guidelines, and food safety standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Certification in ServSafe or other food safety programs preferred.
