The Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Café’s operations, ensuring outstanding customer experiences, and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Reporting directly to the Café Manager, this position is ideal for a candidate with a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for operational excellence, and a commitment to team development.Key Responsibilities· Operational Leadership: Support the General Manager and Principals in the day-to-day running of the Patriot Café, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in all service areas. Oversee opening and closing procedures, inventory management, cash handling, and compliance with health and safety regulations.· Team Supervision and Development: Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring café staff. Promote a culture of respect, enthusiasm, and teamwork. Delegate tasks to team members, provide constructive feedback, and lead by example to ensure optimal staff performance.· Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional service by greeting guests warmly, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns with professionalism and care. Monitor guest satisfaction, respond to feedback, and implement improvements to ensure memorable café experiences.· Quality Assurance: Uphold ChampionZone’s standards for food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and presentation. Conduct regular inspections of dining, kitchen, and storage areas to ensure compliance with brand guidelines and local health codes.· Inventory and Cost Control: Track inventory levels, place orders, and receive shipments. Work with the Café Manager to manage budgets, minimize waste, and control costs without compromising quality or service.· Sales and Promotions: Support promotional campaigns, special events, and seasonal offerings. Train staff on upselling techniques, monitor sales performance, and suggest initiatives to increase revenue and customer engagement.· Administrative Duties: Assist with staff scheduling, payroll reporting, and record-keeping. Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and internal procedures.· Technology and Systems: Utilize point-of-sale terminals, inventory management software, Virtual golf simulation hardware, software and communication channels and other digital platforms to streamline operations and enhance reporting accuracy.· Community Engagement: Represent the ChampionZone Patriot Café at local events, develop relationships with patrons and neighborhood partners, and help implement community outreach initiatives aligned with ChampionZone’s values.Qualifications and Skills· Experience: Minimum of 2 years in hospitality or retail management preferred, with a proven track record of supervisory responsibility.· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality, business, or a related field is a plus.· Leadership: Strong people management skills, motivational leadership style, and ability to inspire trust and dedication among staff.· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and vendors.· Problem-Solving: Resourceful, analytical thinker who can resolve conflicts and implement solutions under pressure.· Organization: Well-developed planning skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.· Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with POS systems, spreadsheets, and basic digital tools required for café management.· Passion for Service: Genuine commitment to hospitality, guest satisfaction, and continuous improvement.Work EnvironmentThe ChampionZone Patriot Café is a vibrant, high-traffic establishment serving a diverse clientele.
