Job Title: Project Manager – Mechanical EngineeringJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Project Manager specializing in Mechanical Engineering to join our Facility Solutions Division. In this position, you will provide technical expertise in HVAC and Plumbing Engineering, collaborating with various disciplines within the company to deliver superior service to our clients.ResponsibilitiesLead project teams in preparing engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications for mechanical engineering, fire protection, and plumbing disciplines.Manage overall financial and technical performance of projects by implementing our project lifecycle management system, taking full responsibility for project scope, schedule, and budget.Maintain and grow client relationships, becoming an indispensable partner to both internal and external clients.Collaborate closely with Principal Engineers, who serve as subject matter experts and engineers of record for mechanical engineering, plumbing, and fire protection design drawings and specifications.Assign duties to the project team, answer their questions, and monitor their progress.Develop cost estimates and proposals for new engineering design work.Ensure the accuracy of completed work and confirm that design drawings and specifications comply with our Quality Management Plan.Provide administrative supervision of assigned staff members, including performance feedback and recommending staff members for advancement.Ensure safe work practices are followed, consistent with the firm's policies and procedures.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent8-10 years of experience with an engineering consulting or design firmLicensed Engineer in Training (EIT)US Person - Eligible to work at aerospace and defense companies with export restrictionsAdditional Skills & QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) is a plusExperience with building systems: HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, ElectricalProficiency in AutoCAD, Project Scheduling & Project Budgeting, Bluebeam, OSHA 10, RevitCarrier HAP or similar load software (TRACE experience acceptable)PMP is a plus, not a requirementWork EnvironmentThe role offers exposure to a diverse mix of projects, including manufacturing and industrial facilities, aerospace and defense, medical and life-science environments, commercial buildings, and warehouses. Typical project ranges include engineering fees from approximately $10K to $200K and construction values from around $500K to $8M. This position can be based in Plainville, Connecticut, or Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and offers the flexibility to move offices after an initial six-month period with leadership approval.
