The technologist is responsible for preparing patients for procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, following imaging protocols, and maintaining equipment. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality imaging and accurate results. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of MRI safety standards are essential in this role.ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of MRI scanning sequences and imaging procedures under the clinical direction of radiologist and general supervision of the MRI supervisor, Diagnostic Imaging Center Manager, or designee.Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed radio frequency pulsed sequences of MRI diagnosis.Educate patients regarding MRI procedure.Log procedures completed. Provide copies of images to patients as requested.Deliver images to physician for reading/interpretation images by using the Picture Archive Communications System (PACS).Maintain Quantity and Quality control checks to assure MRI equipment meets standards required by laws, rules and departmental policies.Clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to equipment, including determining repairs needed to equipment.Clean and make minor adjustments to MRI equipment and ensures equipment is in working order and report equipment malfunction to manager or designee.Process charges and related paperwork using computer as directed.Coordinate materials for branch-specific IAC accreditation.Compliance with all policies and procedures.RequirementsRequirements:High School Diploma or EquivalentPrimary or Post-Primary certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)Associate's degree or higher from an ARRT-approved program.At least 2 years of experience in Medical ImagingValid State License/CertificationPreferredOrthopedic or Sports Medicine: 1 year (Preferred)
