Controller at Music Start-Up

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller with 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience to lead our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a CPA with a strong technical foundation in GAAP, consolidations, and internal controls, and hands-on experience in NetSuite ERP. Experience managing multi-entity organizations is strongly preferred. Prior exposure to the music or entertainment industry is a plus but not required.ResponsibilitiesDirect all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.Prepare, review, and consolidate financial statements for multiple entities.Maintain and enforce a strong system of internal controls and compliance with GAAP.Manage external audits, tax filings, and relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and banks.Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.Provide timely financial reporting and insights to support leadership decision-making.Supervise and develop accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.Optimize processes, reporting, and automation within NetSuite to improve efficiency and scalability.QualificationsCPA required.8–10 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.NetSuite ERP experience required (implementation, configuration, and reporting preferred).Experience with multi-entity consolidations strongly preferred.Proven ability to manage audits, compliance, and complex reporting requirements.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.Music or entertainment industry accounting experience is a plus, but not required.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experience.Performance-based bonus eligibility.Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.Professional development opportunities in a dynamic and growing company.
