We don’t just react to headlines—we understand the trendlines that shape them.Role DescriptionTrendline Strategies is seeking a Law and Policy Fellow (ideally a law student or graduate student) to support our work at the intersection of business, law, and public policy.Trendline currently focuses on four key areas:WorkforceTechnologyCorporate GovernanceHealthThis is a 12-week fellowship that offers substantive experience with issues at the intersection of law, policy, and business. The Fellow will work on research and analysis related to legislative, regulatory, and policy developments affecting our clients and partners.The fellowship is structured as a 12-week term with the potential to extend based on performance and ongoing need. The target start date is June 1 ending on August 21, 2026.We are happy to work with your law school or graduate program to help you obtain academic credit or meet externship / practicum requirements, where applicable.Key ResponsibilitiesLegal and policy researchConduct research on federal and state legislation, regulations, case law, and policy proposals relevant to Trendline’s focus areas and client priorities.Draft research memos, issue briefs, and summaries of key developments.Monitoring and analysisTrack hearings, agency actions, comment periods, and other developments in workforce, corporate governance, health, and technology.Help maintain tracking documents, timelines, and analytical frameworks for legislative and regulatory processes.Assist with data collection, organization, and basic analysis.Writing and content developmentDraft and edit policy summaries, talking points, backgrounders, and slide decks.Assist in identifying and developing content for blogs and social media.General supportScheduling and meeting coordination (as needed)Participate in a weekly meeting (in person or video).Be available for periodic calls to discuss projects, provide updates, and receive feedback. Time Commitment & CompensationThis is a 3-month fellowship.Fellows are expected to commit approximately 10 hours per week to their research and writing duties.This includes participation in a weekly meeting (phone or video) plus periodic calls to discuss ongoing projects.The fellowship provides a $1,000/month stipend. QualificationsApplicants must be critical thinkers, intellectually versatile, and demonstrate strong research and writing skills.
