If you're mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and passionate about agricultural equipment, our Sprayer Technician Apprentice position offers an exceptional opportunity to build a rewarding career. Working alongside an experienced Ag Sprayer Technician for at least one year, you'll receive hands-on training while developing the advanced diagnostic, repair, and maintenance skills needed to service today's high-performance sprayers. From the shop to the field, you'll gain valuable experience, work with industry-leading technology, and play an important role in helping our customers maximize equipment performance. Applicant will work/train out of the Perry, IL location but will eventually primarily work out in the field on agriculture and application equipment in the Perry/Winchester/White Hall areas. What You'll Do: Train alongside an experienced Ag Sprayer Technician to develop advanced diagnostic and repair skills. Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer-owned and dealership-owned sprayers. Complete required company provided training programs to expand technical knowledge and certifications. Perform equipment diagnosis and repairs both in the shop and at customer locations. Assist with or conduct customer clinics and educational events. Stay current on John Deere equipment, technology, and competitive products. Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory in safe, clean, and working condition. Keep work areas organized while following established safety procedures. Accurately complete work orders, reports, and service documentation. Track labor hours and materials used on assigned jobs. Other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring: Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in agricultural machinery. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in agricultural and turf equipment. Ability to perform repairs and maintenance using specialized tools while following technical manuals and procedures. Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Experience using computer applications. Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employment. Must pass a DOT physical and renew certification annually as a condition of continued employment. Reliable attendance and flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays. Pay Information: The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made. In Season Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm OR 7am-3pm (rotation determined by store) Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm *In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store.
