Remote Product Engineer
Product EngineerThis is a remote position. We're looking for a Product Engineer — a developer with high agency, strong product sense, and the ability to take a large, loosely-specified problem and run with it. This isn't a role for someone who needs every ticket spelled out. You'll be handed whole features or problems, not tasks, and trusted to figure out the right approach, make the call, and ship — then tell us what you did and why.Responsibilities:Take vague, high-level goals and turn them into shipped, working software with minimal hand-holdingOwn large scopes end-to-end: break down the problem, sequence the work, and drive it to doneMake UX and scope judgment calls independently — know what's worth building and what to cutWork in tight iteration loops — ship something working fast, then refine based on real feedbackUse agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) as a core part of your daily workflow — delegate grunt work to the tools and steer them to good outputSurface blockers, tradeoffs, and decisions early and clearly, without needing to be managedRequirements:4-5+ years of professional software development experience — solid engineering fundamentals are the foundation agency and product sense sit on top ofProven high agency: a track record of taking ambiguous goals and shipping without needing detailed specsFluent with modern AI-assisted/agentic development workflows (Claude Code, Codex, etc.)Full-stack range — comfortable across the stack, not siloed to one layerStrong product instincts — can reason about UX and priorities like a product owner, not just an engineer executing a specComfortable in ambiguous, early-stage, fast-moving environmentsTrack record of shipping side projects, fast prototypes, or 0-to-1 workClear, concise communicator — low-overhead updates, no need for constant check-insThe secret ingredients that make us special:Your growth is our growth. This is an hourly, independent contractor position. Compensation is based solely on hours worked. As an independent contractor role, this position does not include PTO.
