General Manager - AmistoWe're hiring a General Manager for Amisto, a new modern Mexican restaurant opening in the heart of downtown Madison.From the team behind RED, Jacknife, and Public Parking, Amisto is a vibrant new concept rooted in bold flavors, elevated technique, thoughtful hospitality, and a dynamic dining experience designed to bring people together.We're building something intentional - a restaurant where energy, culture, creativity, and genuine hospitality all work seamlessly together.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead Amisto through opening and beyond. This individual will oversee all daily operations, build and develop a high-performing team, and help shape the culture and guest experience from the ground up.The General Manager will work closely with ownership to drive financial performance, establish operational excellence, and position Amisto as one of Madison's standout dining destinations.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations LeadershipOversee all day-to-day restaurant operations and service executionCollaborate with ownership to drive sales, manage costs, and optimize overall performancePartner with Front of House and Back of House leadership to ensure strong communication and alignmentContinuously evaluate systems, staffing, and service flow to improve efficiency and consistencyTeam DevelopmentRecruit, train, and develop a strong hospitality-driven teamFoster a positive, accountable, and growth-oriented cultureLead with a hands-on approach and support all areas of the restaurantCreate and maintain training systems and ongoing development initiativesGuest ExperienceUphold exceptional hospitality standards and create memorable guest experiencesAddress guest feedback with professionalism, urgency, and careMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environmentFinancial PerformanceDrive revenue through service excellence, events, and strategic initiativesManage labor, food, and beverage costs to meet financial goalsAnalyze P&L reports and identify opportunities for growth and operational improvementOversee inventory and purchasing to maximize profitability and minimize wasteQualifications3–5+ years of restaurant management experience (General Manager or senior leadership experience preferred)Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skillsProven ability to manage financial performance and operational systemsExperience in high-volume, hospitality-driven environmentsPassion for food, beverage, hospitality, and creating meaningful guest experiencesWhat We're Looking ForA hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environmentsSomeone who leads by example and builds strong, motivated teamsA hospitality-focused professional who genuinely enjoys taking care of peopleA leader excited by the opportunity to help build a restaurant from the ground upBenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurancePaid time offEmployee discountPlease send resume to taryn@red-madison.com.
