Controller - Healthcare

The Encompass Group is partnering with a rapidly growing private healthcare practice to hire a Controller who will act as a true right-hand to ownership, leading both financial performance and operational execution.This isn’t a back-office accounting role. It’s a hands-on, player-coach position for someone who can think strategically but is just as comfortable diving into the day-to-day.What you’ll be doing: • Own the full financial picture including reporting, forecasting, and cash flow • Build and improve timely, accurate reporting across multiple locations • Use systems like athenahealth to analyze trends and help guide decisions • Partner directly with ownership on growth strategy and key initiatives • Drive operational improvements across clinics, patient access, and workflows • Support and develop existing leadership, including a strong COO/VP-level partner • Identify inefficiencies and put scalable processes in place • Serve as a trusted advisor in both financial and operational decision-makingWhat they’re looking for: • 8–15+ years of experience in finance and/or operations leadership • Background as a Controller, VP of Finance, or similar level role (healthcare preferred) • Experience in multi-site environments, ideally within a healthcare or specialty practice setting • Strong operational mindset with the ability to connect numbers to real business impact • Comfortable in a fast-paced, build-as-you-go environment • Someone who executes, not just strategizes
