Positions Available And General DutiesGroundskeeper I with Parks and Recreation Department:Perform horticultural functions and landscape or general maintenance, construction, litter removal, and repair functions necessary to maintain roadways, public buildings, parks, schools, athletic fields, and other designated public areas.Requirements: Any equivalent combination of education or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Driver's License and successful completion of a pre-employment physical.Maintenance Worker With Public Utilities DepartmentPerform a variety of maintenance and heavy manual labor work related to the City infrastructure, repair and maintenance requiring the utilization of specific skills.Requirements: Completion of 7th grade plus one (1) year of experience in fields such as municipal public works maintenance or construction. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory drug testing. High Preference a valid driver's license. Positive drug test results may result in counseling and/or discipline, up to and including, termination.Mechanic I With Public Works DepartmentMaintain and perform basic repairs on a variety of vehicles and machinery utilized by City operations.Requirements: Completion of eight grade plus one year of experience in mechanical repair work. Valid driver's license and may require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of hire date. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory drug testing. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical.Waste Management Operator With Public Works DepartmentPerform as part of a two-person crew collecting yard debris and refuse on a rear loader.Requirements: High school diploma or GED and 1 year of experience or training in heavy manual labor.
