Senior Vice President of Preconstruction – Data Centers (Owner-Operator)Location: Miami, Florida (Remote flexibility available)Industry: Data Center Development / Mission-Critical InfrastructureEmployment Type: Full-Time | PermanentA fast-growing data center owner-operator is seeking a seasoned Senior Vice President of Preconstruction to lead front-end project strategy and delivery planning for high-performance, mission-critical facilities across the U.S.This executive-level role will oversee all preconstruction phases of hyperscale and colocation data center developments, including site due diligence, design coordination, budgeting, procurement strategy, and project planning. You will build and scale internal preconstruction teams, drive consultant and vendor performance, and ensure consistency across multiple project locations.Key Responsibilities:Lead all preconstruction activities for hyperscale and colocation data center developmentsOversee conceptual estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement planning, and cost control strategiesManage due diligence, feasibility studies, constructability reviews, and design-phase coordinationBuild and lead internal preconstruction, estimating, and project planning teamsCollaborate across development, design, engineering, construction, and operations functionsManage relationships with consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, and key vendorsImplement standardized preconstruction processes, reporting, and delivery frameworks across project sitesSupport executive leadership with investment analysis, project forecasting, and risk mitigation strategiesEnsure seamless transition from preconstruction into construction execution and commissioningQualifications:12+ years of experience in construction management, preconstruction, or project delivery, including 5+ years in mission-critical or data center environmentsDemonstrated success leading preconstruction efforts for large-scale, multi-site construction programsStrong leadership experience managing internal teams and external partnersDeep knowledge of conceptual estimating, GMP development, procurement strategy, and schedulingFamiliarity with commissioning requirements and facility handover planningProficiency with construction management and estimating tools such as Procore, MS Project, Primavera, Bluebeam, or similar platformsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s or MBA a plus)Compensation & Benefits:Competitive base salary plus annual performance bonusComprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company matchVehicle allowance or company vehicleRemote flexibility with travel to project sites as neededExecutive leadership role with long-term growth trajectoryHow to Apply:Thor Engineering is the preferred recruitment partner for this role and invites interested candidates to follow these steps for priority consideration:Submit your CV in response to this job postingConnect with me on LinkedInEmail your contact information and availability to iem@thor-companies.comQualified candidates will be contacted for an initial screening call, followed by interviews with the HR team and Hiring Manager.Candidates who complete these steps will be given priority throughout the selection process.
