Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for departmental specific patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required (BSN preferred)• Current registered nurse's license in the State of Texas required.• Current BLS certification required.• ACLS certification within six (6) months of hire.• NIHSS certification within six (6) months of hire• TNCC/TCAR within six (6) months of hire• ENLS certification preferred for NSICU• Job requires cross training to like areas• Willingness to be trained for charge nurse• Willingness to become a preceptor after two years of nursing experience• Hospital experience preferred• Proficiency in English -verbal and written and computer skills required• Spanish proficiency preferredJOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:• Ability to practice nursing as described by the following definition by the American Nurses Association (2016): "the essential core of practice for the registered nurse to deliver holistic, patient-focused care." Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
