Job Description Position SummaryWe are seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations for an assigned shift or production area. This role is responsible for driving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) while fostering a strong culture of continuous improvement (CI) and lean manufacturing.The Production Supervisor will lead teams, manage production metrics, and ensure operational excellence by eliminating waste, reducing variation, and sustaining standard work.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Performance ManagementLead daily production meetings and monitor SQDC metrics against targetsTrack and improve KPIs including OEE, throughput, TAKT time, and first-pass yieldEnsure production schedules are met and escalate issues as neededMaintain visual management systems and production reportingContinuous Improvement & Lean LeadershipLead Kaizen events, A3 problem-solving, and PDCA cyclesConduct Gemba walks to identify waste and drive process improvementsChampion 5S and visual workplace standardsImplement waste reduction and efficiency improvement initiativesProblem Solving & Process ControlPerform root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEAEnsure corrective actions are implemented, tracked, and sustainedMonitor SPC data and address out-of-control conditionsMaintain and improve standard work documentation (SOPs/WIs)People LeadershipSupervise and develop production team members (approx. 15–40 employees)Coach employees in lean principles and problem-solving techniquesManage staffing, training, and performance developmentSupport hiring and onboarding activitiesSafety & ComplianceEnforce all safety policies, PPE requirements, and proceduresConduct safety observations and incident investigationsLead daily safety briefings and promote a safety-first cultureCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with maintenance, quality, and planning teamsParticipate in plant-level meetings and communicate shift performanceProvide clear shift handover updates and reportsQualificationsEducationAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferredEquivalent experience will be consideredExperience3–5+ years in a manufacturing environmentMinimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership roleProven experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvementExperience improving KPIs such as OEE, yield, or TAKT timeSkills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of lean principles and waste reductionProficiency in structured problem-solving (A3, PDCA, 5-Why)Ability to analyze and communicate performance dataStrong leadership, communication, and coaching skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/MES experience preferredPreferred QualificationsLean Six Sigma Green Belt or higherExperience in high-volume manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar systemsBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods (10–12 hour shifts) Monday - Thursday 5:00 am to 3:30 pmAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionallyWork in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperaturesMust wear required PPE (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed boots)Equal Opportunity Employer StatementWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable federal, state, or local laws.Additional InformationThis job description is intended to outline the general nature of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties.
