Product Development Engineer – Asia Manufacturing (Mandarin-Speaking)Location: Onsite or Hybrid (Travel Required)Job SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on Product Development Engineer with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering and experience working directly with overseas manufacturers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and sourcing cost-effective product solutions based on customer requests. This person will work closely with suppliers—primarily in China and other parts of Asia—to manage the full product development cycle from concept to production.ResponsibilitiesReview customer product requests and specifications and identify viable manufacturing solutionsCollaborate directly with manufacturers in China/Asia to develop or reverse-engineer productsWork step-by-step with factories to ensure product quality, pricing, and delivery timelinesConduct cost analysis and source alternate materials or production methods as neededCoordinate sampling, revisions, and compliance testingNegotiate pricing, MOQs, and contract terms with international suppliersTravel to Asia for factory visits, sample approvals, and supplier relationship managementRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in product development or engineering rolesMust speak Mandarin fluently (spoken and written)Proven experience working with international manufacturers, especially in ChinaStrong understanding of product cost structures, prototyping, and production scalingExcellent communication and project management skillsWillingness and ability to travel internationallyPreferred QualificationsExperience with consumer goods, industrial products, or hardwareFamiliarity with quality control processes and manufacturing compliance standardsPrior experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationshipsWe're committed to finding the best talent.
