Job Summary:Under supervision, the Payroll/Benefits Specialist administers the payroll and benefit administrative processes.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Administer all required payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely compensation.Administer all regulatory pay requirements as necessary (garnishments, tax levies, support orders, and other required payroll deduction remittance and reporting).Respond to all unemployment claims and employment verifications in a timely manner.Generate and maintain complete employee personnel files, records, and other documentation for employees, including processing new employees, forms for employment status changes, confidential information, and accurate/timely files.Administer all employee benefits enrollments and terminations to include assisting with annual open enrollment (health benefits, 401k, ESOP, etc.).Process monthly billings from providers. Reconcile for accuracy and approve for payment in a timely manner. Address benefit inquiries to ensure timely and accurate resolutions. Maintain contact with employees, location managers, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees. Produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports pertaining to payroll, benefits, and HR.Other administration and reporting as required for census, auditing, ACA, etc. Actively participate as a member of assigned workgroups. Other duties as assigned.Required Education and ExperienceAssociate degree or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 3 years’ experience administering payroll, benefits, and HRIS processes.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computer software applications for payroll and benefits.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be a team player with the ability to work independently. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadlines. Possess strong attention to detail and ability to edit, audit, and proofread. Ability to be analytical and organize data in logical format. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess excellent time management and follow through skills. Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and terminology, payroll and benefit process and procedures, including eligibility and enrollment rules and benefit procedures.
