Section Manager, IT
The Bath Iron Works Information Technology team is seeking a dynamic individual with diverse and progressive IT leadership experience to assume the role of IT Business Relationship Section Manager. In this role, the successful candidate will lead a team responsible for the followingBuilding strong, collaborative relationships with business clients & IT service owners.Track client satisfaction with services provided and develop continuous improvement plans based on feedback.Ensure that effective communication occurs related to service delivery and project delivery.Manage the expectations and priorities of multiple business stakeholders.Provide clear points of contact within IT for each business stakeholder.Act as a bridge between IT and the business.Ensure alignment of IT priorities with overall business objectives.Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the IT Section Manager ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety LeadershipBe a safety leader for your team and ensure that each person leaves in the condition they came in.Ensure all safety training is completed on time.Project ExecutionEnsure that effective communication occurs related to service delivery and project delivery.Manage the expectations and priorities of multiple business stakeholdersIT ManagementBuilding strong, collaborative relationships with business clients & IT service owners.Responsible for the development of team members and their relationships with their business clients.Training and DevelopmentParticipate in training to further working knowledge of new IT tools and methodologies.Attend BIW training opportunities as required.Team Collaboration and CommunicationManage the expectations and priorities of multiple business stakeholders.Provide clear points of contact within IT for each business stakeholder.Continuous ImprovementActively strive to simplify processes by understanding both the technical landscape of IT and the operational realities of the business units, identifying bottlenecks and streamlining workflows to enhance overall efficiency. Responsible for documenting processes to be shared among IT and to be used when interfacing with customers.10+ years of related IT experience, ideally including previous leadership and project/program management.A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.Experience in a large-scale manufacturing organization preferred.A leader who has worked in a business-facing IT organization with demonstrated experience in partnering with business stakeholders.Strong Project/Program Management ExperienceDemonstrated ability to work with senior stakeholders to influence the status quo.Offers constructive suggestions and acts as a trusted advisor to the business.Highly motivated and self-directed; able to effectively prioritize and execute while under pressure.Strong customer service focus and mindset.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Strong interpersonal skills; able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict with professional coworkers.Proven ability to communicate and explain complex issues in clear, concise, persuasive language both verbally and in writing.Highly adaptable and flexible; able to adjust quickly to new situations and changing priorities.Able to offer creative, innovative, and strategic solutions to business challenges.Facilitate and influence end-to-end engagement to achieve desired business outcomes.Experience facilitating change management involving business processes and organizational change.
