Store Operations Supervisor

GENERAL PURPOSE:The Store Operations Supervisor is an integral part of the Store Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing a designated area of the Store while managing overall operations as the Manager on Duty. This role includes opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and creating a welcoming shopping environment. The Supervisor ensures merchandise is presented effectively and maintains a clean work area consistently. Additionally, they execute and supervise Company operational processes as necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments:Safety is our top priority—practice safe behaviors in every task. Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe shopping environment, addressing unsafe conditions or practices immediately. Oversee building security, including entrance/exit control, daily security checks, and cash office safety. Ensure clear pathways to emergency exits and promote accident prevention. Test fire alarm systems as scheduled, and respond to after-hours alerts as needed. Customer Service:Demonstrate respect for all Customers, Associates, and Leaders. Exhibit courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times while recognizing team efforts using Company recognition programs. Personal and Store Brand:Act as an ambassador for the Company brand at all times. Maintain a professional appearance that adheres to the Company Dress Code and ensure all Associates do the same. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the Store. Manage daily trash removal processes. General Merchandising:Ensure recovery, merchandising, and markdowns are completed per Company standards by supporting and training Associates. Handle merchandise shipments and deliveries efficiently. Ensure Stockroom organization and cleanliness. Supervise the merchandising of departments and maintain compliance with presentation standards. Handle reductions in loss due to damage and ensure accurate pricing and tagging of merchandise. Loss Prevention:Understand and comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program to minimize loss, fostering a strong customer service presence. Exhibit integrity and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information. Maintain the Public View Monitor (PVM) system and conduct necessary inspections. Front End Supervision and Operations:Maximize productivity at the Front End, ensuring Associates follow Company standards to enhance customer experiences. Maintain energy and presence at the Front End, effectively managing lines to reduce wait times for Customers. Train and coach Associates in Front End procedures and cash register management. Manage break schedules for Retail Associates to ensure efficient operations. Fitting Rooms:Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the Fitting Rooms, ensuring all policies are followed. Ensure compliance for returned merchandise. Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager:Conduct cash pulls and bank deposits in accordance with Company policies. Manage Front End controls and adhere to refund and purchase approval processes. Oversee payroll administration tasks including punch edits and scheduling compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager. COMPETENCIES:Effectively manage work processes. Exhibit strong business acumen. Plan, align, and prioritize effectively. QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:Excellent verbal communication skills and fluency in English. Prior experience in Customer Service and supervisory roles is preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and retail applications. Basic mathematical skills for retail operations. Availability for flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:Capability to operate store equipment such as registers and PCs. Ability to spend the majority of working time on foot, moving around the store. Regularly bend, squat, climb, and lift up to 25 lbs. Use janitorial equipment and other store supplies as needed. Specific roles may require additional qualifications. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads (as applicable).
