We can't wait to meet you!Under the direction of the Office Manager, this position performs entry-level to routine customer service work including assisting with the daily office operations and clerical duties for Dinosaur Valley State Park. Provides customer service, performs revenue collection, accounting, license and permit sales, and automated camper registration. Clerical tasks include answering telephones, processing incoming and outgoing mail, report data entry, preparing correspondence, and filing. Interprets policies and provides information to park visitors and the public. Handles complaints and emergencies and interacts with a large volume of park visitors. Assists the Assistant Office Manager with maintaining inventory of office supplies, brochures, and visitor information packets. Conducts routine cleaning of park headquarters building. Works under close to moderate supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Education: Graduation from High School or GED.Experience: None required.Licensure: Applicant must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:Experience: One year experience in general clerical, cash handling, or customer service.Experience: One year clerical experience such as accounting, typing, filing, record keeping, and data entry.Experience: One year experience in use of automation equipment or word processing and spreadsheet equipment and software.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of general office procedures.Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.Knowledge of basic mathematics.Knowledge of telephone procedures and etiquette.Skill in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Skill in effective verbal and written communication.Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers and work-related contacts.Skill in managing several projects simultaneously.Ability to handle complaints, emergencies, stressful work environments, and high volumes of people courteously and effectively.Ability to work under stressful conditions.Ability to accurately handle cash and account for revenue collected.Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.Ability to work as a member of a team.Ability to learn an online registration system.Ability to maintain flexibility and work with frequent interruptions and multiple changing priorities.Ability to perform manual labor including lifting supplies and materials up to 20 lbs.Ability to conduct work activities in accordance with TPWD safety program.Working Conditions:Required to work in a high visitation public park with overnight camping.Required to work 40 hours per week, with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.Required to work in adverse weather conditions to include heat, rain, and cold.Required to adjust to changing schedules.Required to perform manual labor including lifting supplies and materials up to 20 lbs.May be required to operate a State vehicle.Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.Non-smoking work environment in State building and vehicles.TPWD IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
