Title: General Maintenance I Reports To: Maintenance Manager Department: Maintenance Summary of Position: Responsible for assisting the Maintenance team in performing a variety of basic skills involved in the upkeep of buildings and grounds, including lodging, retail stores, restaurants and housing. Responsibilities: Receive and complete work orders, in a timely and efficient manner, as required by Maintenance Department policies and procedures. Must assist in the completion, tracking and reporting of work orders Duties may include general painting, carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, landscaping maintenance, etc. Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment as requested Capable of “hands on repairs” in most maintenance disciplines Comply with all safety policies and procedures including when lifting, climbing, etc. Be available to assist other team members with maintenance related tasks Polite, knowledgeable and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries Understand the Company’s ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas Other duties per Duties Checklist and as assigned Position Requirements: Demonstrate basic skill in the use of tools, materials and equipment common to maintenance and repair Possess the initiative to learn and willingness to grow in maintenance operations Understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions Must be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms or crawl spaces, tunnels, ledges and roofs and understand the OSHA safety requirements as applicable Ability to work as part of a team Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally Must have a valid driver’s license to operate vehicles throughout property Education and Experience: Education: High school Diploma or equivalent Technical certification/degree preferred Experience: 1 year of general maintenance and/or construction National Park experience preferred Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status and all other status protected by law.
