Job Title: SATCOM Engineer/Satellite EngineerLocation: Everett, WA – Onsite onlyVisa Requirements: USC/GC onlyWe are looking for candidates with experience as a SATCOM Engineer, SATCOM Test Engineer, Satellite Engineer, Satellite Communications Engineer, Communications Engineer, or Satellite System Engineer. Suitable candidates may come from domains such as Aerospace, Aircraft, Defense, Aviation, Avionics, Spacecraft, and Telecommunications. Aerospace experience is beneficial but not mandatory.Job DescriptionThe team is seeking assistance in the configuration, integration, and testing of the overall system, both software and hardware, for the Universal Aircraft Terminal (UAT) project.Position Roles/Responsibilities:Perform system hardware and software test setup for satellite modem terminal testing.Perform network configuration and traffic simulation, applying various use cases.Generate and use test scripts and automation for various scenarios.Perform testing according to documented procedures.Document test results and generate conclusions.Set up and create the test environment using emulators.Create and define web interfaces to test the system.Knowledge of sensors, offboard data transmission in the aero domain, and offboard web interfaces development for data sync time frames/periods.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in aerospace or computer engineering is preferred.10+ years of experience in telecom and networking.Knowledge of Universal Aircraft Terminal & Satellite Modems is an advantage.Key Terms:Configuration, integration, and testing of the overall satellite communication system, including software and hardware.Satellite modem for aircraft-to-ground communications conditions being emulated.SATCOM connectivity & testing, Controller Pilot Data Link Communication, Automatic Dependent Surveillance which automatically sends position reports to ATC via datalink (VHF, HF, or SATCOM).Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System, VDL mode, Automated Terminal Information System, ADS-B and TIS-B sensors, Avionics Testing, Ground Network Systems (ILS/VOR and TACAN) using the latest satellite-based positioning and navigation aids (G-BAS, S-BAS), Single AoA.Beta testing, black box testing, operational acceptance testing, contract acceptance testing, and regulation acceptance testing.Advantageous: Knowledge of communication technologies such as Bluetooth, HF, Wi-Fi, Wireless (3G/4G/LTE/5G), CPDLC/ACARS, L-Band, and Ku/Ka-band; ARINC Services (Series 500, 700, 800) (429, 717, etc.), Ethernet (up to 1000Base-T support, etc.).
