Compounding OperatorLocation: Largo, FL 33773 Pay Rate: $18.61 per hour Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM 2:30 PM Schedule: Monday Friday | 40 hours per weekPosition Overview:We are seeking Compounding Operators to support production operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for preparing resin batches, operating compounding equipment, performing quality checks, and accurately recording production data.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working with production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Key Responsibilities:Material Mixing & Batch Preparation:Prepare resin batches using detailed formulations and mix sheetsPre-blend materials and load ribbon blenders or drum tumblers according to formulation specificationsWeigh, package, and label finished products based on work order instructionsEquipment Operation & Maintenance:Perform start-up, shutdown, and operation of 40mm and 60mm compounder lines and water systemsConduct production maintenance on compounders, pelletizers, dryers, and related equipmentDisassemble compounders for screen changes and cleaningTroubleshoot equipment issues to maintain efficient productionQuality Control & Documentation:Sample compound materials and mold ASTM test slabs for each work orderInspect products for visual defects and initiate corrective actions when necessaryEnter production data into internal systems including the CMPC programComplete all production documentation including work orders, stock movement tickets, scrap tickets, and identification tagsTeam Collaboration & Communication:Assist in training employees on proper compounding techniques and equipment operationCommunicate production status, equipment conditions, and potential issues between shiftsSupport continuous improvement and production efficiency initiativesSafety & Housekeeping:Follow all company safety procedures and policiesWear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoesMaintain clean and organized work areasReport unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to managementRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to accurately complete time reporting and work order documentationBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilityAbility to obtain forklift certificationPreferred Qualifications:Experience operating injection molding machinesExperience with compounders, pelletizers, dryers, or similar production equipmentPhysical Requirements:Frequent standing and walking during the shiftOccasional climbing of stairs or stepsAbility to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach above shoulder heightAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyWork Environment:Manufacturing / production environmentModerate to high noise levelsExposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals depending on work areaPPE required at all times
