They strive to make a meaningful impact in the community they serve.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Substance Abuse Counselor, located in Baltimore MD. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work directly with individuals to provide counseling and support for substance abuse challenges. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing treatment plans, conducting case management, providing education on chemical dependency and relapse prevention, and addressing co-occurring mental health concerns. The role requires close collaboration with clients and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and progress toward recovery.QualificationsProficiency in Treatment Planning and Case Management, ensuring individualized and effective care for clients.Strong knowledge and experience in Chemical Dependency and Relapse Prevention strategies to support clients in achieving sustained recovery.Understanding of and ability to address Mental Health issues, particularly those that co-occur with substance use disorders.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective counseling and collaboration with clients and team members.Credentials as a certified or licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., ADT, CAC, CADC, or LCPC) are preferred.Prior experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health services is an asset.Empathy, cultural competence, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
