Proctors – Disability Resource ProgramUniversity of California College of the Law, San Francisco is seeking candidates to serve as seasonal/on‐call exam proctors during our exam periods listed below. Multiple positions are available. Proctors are responsible for assisting students to their assigned exam stations, observing students taking examinations, and maintaining the security and integrity of the examination process.UC Law's midterm and final examinations are held once a term. For Fall it takes place typically in late November to mid‐December, for Spring term in late April to mid‐May, and for summer term in mid‐August. Each exam period is approximately 3 weeks (summer term exam period is only a few days). Exam schedules vary and are Monday through Friday. Each shift can last from 4–8 hours a day with breaks. The starting hourly rate is $20.83 per hour.Upcoming Exam PeriodsDecember 2nd – December 19th, 2023April 21st – May 9th, 2024August 4th – August 7th, 2024Primary/Principal ResponsibilitiesAttend one mandatory training session prior to each examination period (proctors will be compensated for the training). This takes place within the week prior to the exam period.Following the Direction from the Disability Resource ProgramGuide students to their exam station and inspect any permitted items to ensure compliance with the exam honor code.Assist students in setting up their laptops and gaining access to ExamSoft.Maintain the security of all exam materials during exams.Communicate examination instructions to students clearly and professionally.Distribute, collect, and account for all exam materials.Monitor students throughout exams to ensure a secure testing environment and deter academic dishonesty.Report any irregularities to the Disability Resource Program.Walk quietly around the room during exams to monitor student conduct.Check all students out of the exam room at the conclusion of the exam period.Complete the Proctor Report upon request from the Disability Resource Program.Adhere to established exam policies and procedures provided by the Registrar's Office and Disability Resource Program.Requirements / QualificationsAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructions.Ability to read and interpret written instructions and procedures and apply them.Ability to move about the exam room at intervals and speak quietly.Ability to lift and carry exam materials up to 20 pounds or push a cart.Ability to enunciate, speak clearly, and project in front of a group of people.Ability to exercise patience.Preferred ExperiencePrior experience with diverse populations in an academic environment.Exam proctoring experience.Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to read clearly out loud.#J-18808-Ljbffr
