As a privately held company, we move fast, innovate constantly, and execute at a high level.Join Our TeamIf you’re a hands-on mechanical engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to directly impact the infrastructure powering data centers and the U.S. electric grid — this is your opportunity.Position OverviewThe Senior Mechanical Engineer (PE preferred) plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of power transformer systems and related mechanical components.This is a highly hands-on, plant-connected role supporting engineering execution, manufacturing, and continuous improvement across our transformer product lines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, production, quality, and field service to ensure designs are robust, manufacturable, and meet customer and regulatory requirements.This role requires onsite presence at one of our core manufacturing locations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical design and engineering of transformer components including:Tanks, enclosures, and structural assembliesCooling systems (radiators, fans, pumps)Bushings, mounting systems, and mechanical supportsDevelop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculationsPerform structural, thermal, and mechanical analysis to ensure product integrity and performanceEnsure designs meet applicable industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, ASME, etc.)Partner closely with manufacturing teams to:Improve manufacturability and reduce costTroubleshoot production challengesSupport root cause analysis and corrective actionsCollaborate with supply chain on material selection, vendor qualification, and cost optimizationSupport new product development and customization for Data Center, Utility, and Industrial customersProvide technical support for field issues, installations, and customer inquiriesDrive continuous improvement initiatives across design, materials, and production processesMentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practicesKey Success MetricsOn-time, high-quality engineering deliverables supporting production schedulesReduction in design-related manufacturing issues and reworkImproved product reliability, performance, and cost efficiencySuccessful execution of custom and standard transformer designsStrong cross-functional collaboration and plant supportQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred7–15+ years of mechanical engineering experience in:Heavy manufacturingPower equipment, transformers, switchgear, or similar industrial productsStrong experience with:Structural and thermal analysisCAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)Design for manufacturing (DFM) principlesKnowledge of industry standards (IEEE, ASME, ANSI) strongly preferredExperience working in a plant-based or manufacturing environmentStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsLeadership ProfileHands-on, execution-focused engineer who thrives on the plant floorStrong sense of ownership and accountability for engineering outcomesAbility to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentCollaborative mindset with strong communication across engineering and operationsDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and performanceWork Environment & TravelOnsite role at one of the following locations:Roanoke, VARincon, GAOccasional travel between facilities as needed
