This role ensures donors feel appreciated, informed, and inspired to continue supporting Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.Partnering with Directors of Philanthropy, clinical leaders, Marketing and Communications, and Finance, this position creates meaningful donor experiences and impact communications that demonstrate how philanthropy advances care across the system. This role also oversees annual appeal efforts through direct and electronic mail.What You Bring To The TableEducational FoundationBachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related fieldProfessional Experience2 to 5 years of nonprofit development, donor relations, communications, or related experienceExtra Skills That Set You ApartExperience in nonprofit, healthcare, or higher education environmentsFamiliarity with Blackbaud Raisers EdgeWhat You Will Lead And DeliverDonor Stewardship and RecognitionDesigns and manages a strategic, tiered stewardship plan for donors and grantors at all giving levelsEnsures timely, personalized stewardship aligned with donor intent, recognition preferences, and gift agreementsOversees donor recognition initiatives including physical signage and digital displaysCoordinates acknowledgment letters and emails for donors and honorees in collaboration with development and executive teamsSupports donor engagement activities such as events, tours, recognitions, and ceremoniesMaintains a structured calendar for recurring stewardship touchpointsAnnual AppealsDesigns and develops compelling direct mail and electronic appealsEnsures timely distribution of all appeal communicationsMaintains accurate and current mailing listsCoordinates with Marketing and internal production teams for development and distributionImpact Communications and ReportingPartners with clinicians and program leaders to gather outcomes, stories, and metrics that demonstrate donor impactCreates stewardship reports, newsletters, and personalized donor updatesMaintains templates and style guidelines to ensure consistent branding and messagingProcess, Data, and IntegrityEnsures accurate gift designation and fund utilization reportingMaintains documentation for donor preferences, naming opportunities, and recognition standardsEnsures stewardship activities are documented in the CRM and aligned with reporting requirementsPartners with Finance and program leaders to communicate fund balances, expenditures, and outcomesMeasurement and Continuous ImprovementUses data and analytics to evaluate stewardship effectivenessRecommends enhancements to donor communications, automation, and engagement strategiesTake the Next StepIf you are passionate about donor engagement, storytelling, and building lasting philanthropic relationships that support life changing healthcare, we encourage you to apply today.
