Quality Control Inspector

We foster an innovative, hands-on R&D environment where curiosity, precision, and collaboration drive real-world impact.Position Overview:They're seeking a skilled Quality Technician to support our prototype engine development efforts. In this role, you will perform inspections of rotary engine components using precision inspection tools (micrometers, indicators, hardness testers, and advanced scanning equipment) to ensure components meet design and performance specifications. You'll work closely with engineers, machinists, and engine build technicians.Responsibilities:Perform dimensional inspections using tools such as micrometers, indicators, profilometers, and 3D scanning systemsInterpret engineering drawings and CAD models using GD&T to verify part conformityConduct pre- and post-test measurements of engine components and assembliesDevelop measurement procedures and inspection programs for metrology equipmentCollaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve part quality or tolerance issuesFabricate or adapt fixturing to ensure repeatable, accurate measurementsMaintain inspection reports, calibration logs, and traceability documentationSupport part cleaning, preparation, and organization for build and inspectionMaintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready workspaceCross-Functional & General Support:Work side-by-side with Engine Build Technicians during engine assembly and teardownCommunicate effectively with teammates and engineers to resolve technical challengesParticipate in continuous improvement of inspection processes and test readinessAssist with IT, procurement, and shop maintenance tasks as needed in a dynamic R&D environmentQualifications:Experience in a metrology, quality control, or precision inspection roleProficiency with a wide range of measurement tools and inspection techniquesStrong understanding of GD&T and the ability to interpret engineering drawingsDemonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problemsExceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracyPreferred:Background in engine assembly, precision machining, or hands-on mechanical systemsExperience with 3D scanning technologies and digital inspection toolsFamiliarity with CAD software and metrology reporting systemsIf interested apply here or LiquidPiston Apply Here
