This position h as responsibility for classroom operation including, lesson planning, and carrying out activities, maintaining the classroom environment, supervising children, home visits, parent/teacher conference, checkpoints, observations, and supervision of classroom volunteers. This is a full time, exempt position, 8 hours shift, with 1 hour unpaid lunch.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneDuties/ResponsibilitiesResponsible for classroom operation including lesson planning, carrying out its activities, and maintaining classroom environmentTreats colleagues and students as individuals with respect and dignityPromotes and provides culturally competent client care and staff interactions that respond respectfully to the strengths and skills of diverse ethnicities and cultures, languages, socio-economic classes, disabilities, religions, genders, sexual orientation and other diversity related factors. Provides leadership to staff, and promotes a sense of agency with co-workers and staff, and communicates in ways that support agency mission and values Completes documentation and other reporting requirements Attends all required staff meetings, program and Center for Family Services activities Reviews progress in professional development and growth objectives periodically with supervisor Discusses family and staff issues, when necessary, only with designated appropriate staff. Reports any suspected child/elder abuse and neglect per New Jersey’s guidelines Conducts self as a role model in interactions with staff, colleagues and funding sources in accordance with Center for Family Services’ Code of Ethics.Required Skills/AbilitiesShows cultural awareness and has a highly functional understanding of and appreciation for developing and assessing culturally responsive services and supports for individuals and families Ability to listen to and respect others and to embrace diversity in all others Ability to form positive, healthy relationships with children and families Strong written and verbal communications skills Ability to understand and carry out written and oral direction Positive, innovative approach to problem solving Presents ideas in a clear, concise, understandable, and organized manner Negotiates, persuades, and modifies opinion in order to reach the goals/objectives of Respond, Inc.
