As we continue to grow, we need someone who can bring financial discipline, accuracy, and insight to match the scale of what we are building.This role is for the person who wants to own the financial accuracy and reporting of a defense manufacturer — not just record history, but help leadership make better decisions. You will manage the books, control costs, support inventory and job costing, and deliver the financial visibility that drives profitable growth. You will report directly to the President, and your work will have a direct impact on how the company operates and where it goes next.About UsPhillip Cable Manufacturing is a defense manufacturer based in Norcross, GA. Our team of approximately 60 people builds mission-critical cable assemblies and wiring harnesses in a facility that holds an active CAGE code and operates under strict defense quality standards. We have been in business since 2013, we have maintained an unbroken track record with our government customers, and we are now expanding into new markets and new capabilities.What You Will DoYou will own PCM’s core accounting functions — the work that keeps our financial records accurate, our cash flow visible, and our contracts profitable. A typical day includes reviewing bank activity and cash position, processing and coding invoices, reconciling accounts, coordinating with purchasing and warehouse on financial issues, and preparing the reports leadership needs to run the business. No two days are exactly alike, but the rhythm is consistent.Your scope goes well beyond bookkeeping. You will manage accounts payable and receivable, lead month-end close, reconcile inventory and manufacturing costs, track job profitability, support payroll coordination with ADP, prepare management reporting, and help strengthen the internal controls that keep a defense manufacturer audit-ready. You will work directly with the President and across every department in the company.Key Responsibilities• Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, and lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and all balance sheet accounts• Oversee accounts payable — review vendor invoices, enforce three-way match, manage payment schedules, and prevent duplicate or incorrect payments• Oversee accounts receivable — monitor aging, track collections, apply payments correctly, and help reduce Days Sales Outstanding• Reconcile raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory; support cycle counts and review variances• Support manufacturing cost accounting — labor, overhead, material usage, standard vs. actual cost analysis, and scrap/rework tracking• Track cost by job, contract, or product line; compare estimated vs. actual cost, flag margin issues early, and help management assess profitability by product, customer, and department• Review payroll entries, reconcile payroll to the ledger, and coordinate with ADP on taxes, benefits, and accruals• Prepare weekly cash position updates, build and maintain cash flow forecasts, lead budget preparation, and deliver budget vs. actual analysis and management reporting that helps leadership act on financial trends• Maintain audit-ready records; ensure proper sales tax and use tax treatment; support 1099 preparation, annual vendor reporting, outside CPA, tax preparers, auditors, and government contract documentation requirements• Strengthen internal controls, create SOPs for recurring accounting processes, and improve coordination between accounting and operationsWho You Are• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and account reconciliation• Strong knowledge of general accounting, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets• Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost accounting• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and experience with QuickBooks or similar ERP systems• You are detail-oriented, analytical, and disciplined about accuracy and follow-through• You communicate clearly with both office and operations teams and can protect confidential information• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldBonus Points• Manufacturing environment experience (job shop, contract manufacturing, or similar)• Government contract, defense industry, or job-costing experience• Familiarity with MISys, QuickBooks, or similar manufacturing ERP• Bilingual English / VietnameseWhy PCMWe are building a family-oriented environment where people look out for each other and work toward something meaningful together.
