Lead Engineer

Summary/ObjectiveUnder the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Lead Engineer owns the engineering design, manufacturing support, and state regulatory compliance for the company’s kiosk products. This role leads product development from concept through production, ensuring design integrity, manufacturability, quality, cost effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.The Lead Engineer provides technical leadership, manages engineering systems and documentation, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and field operations. This position also leads and mentors the Compliance /Quality Engineer.This is a Full time Salary, Exempt, position being offered at $125,000-$145,000 DOE + 25% bonusEssential FunctionsEngineering Leadership & OversightLead engineering design and evaluation activitiesRepresent the engineering function in cross-departmental initiativesOversee Quality & Compliance engineering activitiesProvide leadership and direction to a small team of engineersManage third-party consultants (electrical, mechanical, programming) as neededProduct Design & DevelopmentUse SolidWorks to create and revise designs supporting fabrication, machining, welding, electrical integration, and in-house assemblyOversee and coordinate the units control system code development (3rd party)Select appropriate materials and design for manufacturability (DFM)Support and lead continuous improvement initiativesDesign fixtures and perform lifting/loading calculations to improve manufacturing processesBuild and test prototypes to validate new designs or modificationsConduct and document field installation testing of prototypes, systems, or unitsOwnership of new and existing products, systems, and designsCompliance & DocumentationEnsure product compliance with applicable state regulationsManage the Engineering Change Order (ECO) processMaintain and control Bills of Material (BOM) within the Engineering and ERP systems for new and existing productsDevelop and maintain manufacturing work instructions and standard work documentationUtilize ERP systems to integrate engineering and manufacturing processesManufacturing, Supply Chain & Field SupportConduct supplier selection analysis in partnership with Procurement to ensure cost, quality, and performance standards are met.Collaborate with Technical Services to resolve field performance issuesSupport troubleshooting and root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools (8D, A3, 5 whys)Participate in process improvements to enhance quality, reliability, and efficiencyRegular and predictable attendance for required schedule.
