Electrical Controls Technician

The technician position requires the integration of electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic components for automated machinery and conveyors. Use of small hand tools, ability to read a tape measure. Wire electrical panels and devices. Reports to Power Distribution Foreman.Responsibilities:Wiring and integration of Industrial Machinery Control Enclosures.Wiring electrical control panels efficiently in a high-volume production setting.Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and B.O.M./drawings, engineering prints/specifications, and/or verbal/written instructionsResponsible for laying out, machining, populating and wiring of electrical control enclosuresAssembly of mechanical, and/or pneumatic components as requiredUse common hand tools, drill, taps, saws, knockout punches, and multi-meterVerify work performed by checking continuity or simulated functional test to determine proper component circuitry that meets operational requirementsMay require operation of forklift, if so training will be providedAssist mechanical assembly departmentAssist with equipment installations, which may require daily and/or overnight travelRequirements:1-3 years' experience using the skills mentioned above preferredExperience in wiring electrical controls panels, UL 508A experience is a plusRead and interpret schematics and electrical specifications as required.Experience with industrial hydraulic machineryWorking knowledge of AC & DC control circuits, including single and three-phase motor control, PLC terminology/function and basic knowledge of measuring instruments and metersThe ability to work with and understand electromechanical functionalityKnowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulationsGood interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role in an organized fashionMust communicate with engineering to work through issues using email, teams, phone calls and in person communicationStrong computer skills, capable of working with all Microsoft Office applicationsStrong time management and organization skills.
