Equity Assistant Trader & Operations Administrator

A global financial firm seeks an Equity Assistant Trader & Operations Administrator to support its Equity team in New York City. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and compliance teams in a fast-paced institutional investment environment. The role combines equity trading support, portfolio operations, performance analysis, and reporting responsibilities.Position OverviewThe Equity Assistant Trader & Operations Administrator will assist with trade execution, portfolio monitoring, fund performance measurement, reporting, and operational coordination for the Equity team. The individual will collaborate with front, middle, and back-office teams to ensure accurate and timely trading activity, reporting, and operational processes. The role also supports automation initiatives and database management projects.ResponsibilitiesSupport equity trade execution and settlement processes in coordination with operations, broker/dealers, and back-office teamsMonitor portfolio cash positions, fund allocations, and performance measurement dataAssist with portfolio attribution analysis and maintain investment-related databasesPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and investment reportsCoordinate with compliance and operations teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirementsAssist with automation and process improvement initiatives in collaboration with IT and operations teamsMaintain accurate trading records and resolve operational discrepancies in a timely mannerProvide administrative and analytical support to equity research analysts and trading professionalsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field3–4+ years of financial services experience, including exposure to trading, investment operations, or portfolio administrationUnderstanding of equity markets, trading workflows, and portfolio operationsStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skills requiredBloomberg proficiency required; familiarity with AIM, VBA, SQL, BQuant, or related tools is a plusStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented mindset with flexibility to support multiple functions as needed
