Associate Director, Media Planning
OverviewWe are looking for an Associate Director, Media Planning to lead strategic media thinking, oversee integrated media planning and financial stewardship, and build strong senior-level client relationships while developing and managing a high-performing team.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and nurture ongoing relationships with key clients, especially at the senior levelEvaluate media recommendations, presentations and clearly identify key media deliverables in terms of accountability and performanceMaintain an in-depth knowledge of client business from current perspective as well as historicalResponsible for overseeing media financial management of all Client businessMaintain positive relationships with media vendors, request continuous ideas to be shared with clientsLead vendor management strategies, negotiations and deal development on behalf of clientsKeep informed regarding media trends, technologies and new media opportunitiesEducate clients and provide thought leadership on changing media, consumer and marketplace dynamics that impact strategic directionParticipates in new business and in the overall management of departmental operationsInterview and make hiring recommendations for teamMonitor timesheet preparation and vacation scheduling for teamManage performance evaluations and facilitate cascading goals amongst the teamEnsure continuous learning and development of team, e.g., set training agendasLead collaboration across integrated agency teams to deliver cohesive campaignsQualificationsBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university7+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in media planning, buying and managementChallenges traditional boundaries and demonstrates consistent creative approaches to business problemsDemonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the media services professionExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsStrong negotiating skillsA keen sense of curiositySolid interpersonal and teamwork abilitiesStrong leadership and management skillsDemonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesStrong analytical abilitiesStrong command of media research and reporting resourcesProven experience working within integrated agency teams (creative, PR etc.)Additional informationSalaryTransparency matters to us. The salary range for this position is $85,000-$90,000 per year. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and applicable certifications.
