Job Responsibilities The mission of the Kent County Friend of the Court is to serve the Court and the families of Kent County to ensure children are supported, both financially and emotionally. We enforce child support, custody and parenting time, monitor accounts and prepare recommendations for the Court regarding custody, parenting time and child support. This position will perform order processing tasks and basic accounting duties. Responsibilities include reading and understanding court orders to accurately process the order through the MiCSES child support system, processing direct pay and forgiveness of arrears letters, processing emancipation notices, death notices, working reports and case closure processes. We are looking for someone detail oriented who has a solid understanding of child support accounts, who handles pressure well, completes work within deadlines, and produces work with a high level of accuracy. Requires ability to use multiple databases, analyze problems, maintain objectivity and confidentiality, and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with a diverse population. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent combined with six months of accounting or bookkeeping experience, or Associate's degree in accounting or related degree. Computer literacy and detail oriented analytical skills are essential. Desire experience in reconciling detailed accounts. ***Please note, this position is a part of our HireReach process.
