RN - Pediatric Critical Care Float PoolLocation: San Diego, CAVirtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner Medical facility's Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool in San Diego, CA. This role demands a dedicated professional with a strong background in pediatric intensive care, ready to provide exceptional care across various critical care units.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver expert nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients across multiple units, including PICU, CTICU, and potentially the Emergency Department.Manage patients of all ages and acuity levels, showcasing adaptability and a wide range of clinical skills.Handle complex cases involving ventilators, trachs, and multiple monitoring systems, specifically CVP and EKG.Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care.Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and treatment plans.QualificationsRequired:Active CA RN LicenseMinimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU experience (PICU, CTICU, or Critical Care Float Pool)BLS, PALS, and ACLS certificationsExperience with ventilators, trachs, CVP, and EKG monitoringPreferredExperience in a variety of critical care settingsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsSchedule3x12 variable or straight night shifts4-5 weekend shifts (Sat-Sun) on day shift5-6 shifts (Fri-Sat) on night shift13-week contractsOne full weekend off every 4-week scheduleRequested Time Off (RTO)Maximum of 6 days (must still work 3 shifts per week)No Vacation RTOPatient PopulationHigh acuity unit treating:InjuryRespiratory failureShockMulti-system failurePoisoningsNear drowningMeningitisPost-op cardiac surgical careNeurosurgeryTraumaHem/oncDKA (if PH or altered consciousness)
