Laboratory Technician (Lab Tech)
Enter Job Description...We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join the healthcare team for a long-term contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory testing, specimen analysis, quality control procedures, and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.The Lab Technician will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results that support quality patient care.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and Blood BankCollect, process, label, and prepare specimens for analysisOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentsEnsure accuracy and integrity of laboratory results and documentationFollow established quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) proceduresMaintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility protocolsReview and validate test results prior to reportingMaintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagentsAdhere to infection control and laboratory safety standardsSupport physicians and clinical staff with accurate and timely diagnostic informationRequired Qualifications:Associate s or Bachelor s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related fieldCurrent MLT/MT/CLS certification preferred (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)Minimum 1 2 years of recent laboratory experience preferredStrong knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipmentAbility to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environmentExcellent communication and organizational skillsPreferred Skills:Experience in hospital or clinical laboratory settingsFamiliarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)Strong attention to detail and analytical skillsAbility to prioritize workload efficientlyFlexibility to work varied shifts if required
