Role: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist (Remote)Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)Payout: $20 - $70/hourRole Overview:We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a QGIS Expert to work on a contractor basis. In this role, you will apply your expertise in QGIS to help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. Your work will have a direct impact on the development of frontier AI models, and you will be part of a global network of experts contributing to the human intelligence layer for AI in various domains, including finance, healthcare, and engineering.Key Responsibilities:• Lead end-to-end projects in QGIS, from raw spatial data acquisition and cleaning to final map outputs and comprehensive deliverables, ensuring high accuracy and consistency throughout the process.• Document your workflow and reasoning in real-time as you perform data management, spatial analysis, and map production tasks, providing transparency and reproducibility.• Organize, clean, and validate diverse spatial datasets, ensuring high accuracy and consistency throughout the process, and manage projections, coordinate systems, and spatial references to optimize data interoperability and output quality.• Style and symbolize map layers for clarity, interpretability, and professional presentation in various contexts, and build advanced layouts and cartographic products that effectively communicate insights and findings.• Collaborate with other experts and stakeholders to integrate your work into the broader AI development pipeline, providing feedback and guidance on how to improve model performance and reliability.Required Skills & Qualifications:• Proficiency in QGIS, with experience in spatial data analysis, mapping, and data management, and the ability to work with diverse spatial datasets and formats.• Strong understanding of geographic information systems, spatial analysis, and cartography, with the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world problems and datasets.• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot issues in QGIS, and to develop creative solutions to complex spatial analysis and mapping challenges.• Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and workflows to non-technical stakeholders, and to document your work in a clear and reproducible manner.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team, with strong time management and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.More About the Opportunity:This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in the technology industry, applying your expertise in QGIS to contribute to the development of next-generation AI systems.
