The Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery to manufacture medical device components to precise specifications. Daily responsibilities include setting up equipment, monitoring production processes, performing quality inspections, and troubleshooting machinery issues. The role also involves adhering to safety protocols and collaborating with team members to ensure production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities· Run Extrusion machines to established specifications· Prepares raw materials for daily production runs· Measure and interpret tubing dimensions in relation to specification· Maintains a clean and organized work environment· Operate as a team player to assist in meeting department goals· Breakdown and clean all extrusion equipment as needed· Set-up extrusion equipment according to specification· Able to identify visual defects in extruded tubing· Able to identify and correct dimensional non-conformances· Clean and polish all tooling and critical components· Measures and cuts tubing· Selects and installs specified tooling for the job· Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Requirements· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred· 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment preferredSkills and Abilities· Ability to follow processes/procedures· Moves equipment weighing up to 25 pounds· Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift· Effective communication, include speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction· Mechanical skills, including comfort with using tools to make simple adjustments· Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of PPE)· Attention to detail· Basic computer skillsWorking Conditions and Physical DemandsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
