Facility Maintenance Technician

Turbo Tim's is seeking a dependable, skilled, and self-directed Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the safety, functionality, and operational readiness of our automotive service centers. This role focuses on maintaining shop infrastructure, equipment, and facility systems that directly support technicians, service advisors, and customers.You will work closely with the Building Manager and shop leadership to ensure our multiple facilities are safe, compliant, and ready for daily production.Core ResponsibilitiesAutomotive Facility & Shop MaintenancePerform routine and preventive maintenance on automotive shop facilities, including service bays, floors, lighting, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical fixturesIdentify and resolve facility issues that impact technician productivity, safety, or customer experienceConduct regular walk-throughs of shop, office, and exterior areas to proactively identify repair needsShop Equipment & Infrastructure SupportSupport maintenance and minor repairs of automotive shop infrastructure, including:Vehicle lifts (visual inspections, minor adjustments, reporting certification issues)Air compressor systems, hoses, reels, and fittingsWaste oil systems, fluid storage areas, and spill containment infrastructureBay doors, openers, safety sensors, and shop access pointsCoordinate with certified vendors for specialized equipment repairs or inspections when requiredHandy-Person & Light Trades Work (Automotive Environment)Perform basic carpentry, drywall, painting, and mounting work related to:Tool storage and shop organization systemsSafety signage, wall-mounted equipment, and fixturesParts shelving, cabinets, and workspace improvementsAssist with bay reconfigurations, equipment moves, and light remodeling projectsMaintain shop exteriors, entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas to ensure safe customer and vehicle flowSafety, Compliance & Environmental SupportSupport OSHA-aligned safety standards within an automotive service environmentAssist with chemical storage compliance, spill response readiness, and proper labelingAttend and complete hazard communication and worker right-to-know trainingIdentify and escalate safety hazards related to shop traffic flow, equipment use, or facility conditionCommunication & CoordinationWork closely with the Building Manager to prioritize maintenance tasks and improvement projectsCommunicate supply needs, repair timelines, and potential disruptions clearly and proactivelyAssist with sourcing materials and coordinating outside vendors or subcontractorsQualifications & RequirementsValid Minnesota driver's license1-3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, automotive shop maintenance, industrial maintenance, or similar hands-on environmentWorking knowledge of automotive shop operations, safety considerations, and facility systemsComfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and shop equipmentAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing shop needsStrong communication, organization, and follow-throughAbility to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical work in an active shop environmentWhat Success Looks LikeShops are safe, organized, and operationally ready each dayFacility and equipment issues are identified early and resolved quicklyTechnician downtime due to facility problems is minimizedSafety risks are reduced through proactive maintenanceFacility improvements directly support productivity and customer confidence
