Job Purpose:- The Courtesy Clerk at Hugo's Family Marketplace plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers by providing exceptional service, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting with various tasks to support the efficient operation of the store.Key Responsibilities:- Bag groceries in accordance with store policy to ensure items are packed safely and efficiently.- Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed for bagging and carrying groceries.- Assist customers by carrying out groceries to their vehicles when requested.- Retrieve grocery carts from the parking lot, ensuring they are available for customer use and organized according to store policy.- Collaborate effectively in a team environment to maintain a smooth workflow and support fellow team members.- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the store to provide a welcoming environment for customers.- Provide friendly and courteous customer service, addressing customer needs and inquiries promptly.- Exhibit reliability and punctuality to ensure consistent coverage and support for store operations.- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members to facilitate a positive shopping experience.- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tasks and procedures to enhance service delivery.- Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks and adherence to safety protocols.- Maintain physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving lifting and moving items.- Uphold safety awareness to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.Benefits:Full Time - Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401k, Paid Time Off, and Holiday Pay.Full Time and Part Time - Employee Discount and Time & Half Holiday Pay.Required Education:- No formal education required- High school diploma or GED preferredRequired Experience:- No specific experience requiredPreferred Experience:- Previous retail experience is a plus but not requiredRequired Skills and Abilities:- Friendly customer service- Reliable and punctual- Strong communication skills- Team-oriented mindset- Willingness to learn and adapt- Attention to detail- Physical stamina for standing and lifting tasks
