Senior Epic BI Developer
As a Senior Epic System Analyst – Reporting and Analytics, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing reporting and analytics solutions within the Epic EHR environment. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Epic reporting tools, data structures, and analytics to enhance decision-making processes and support our organization's commitment to data-driven healthcare.Responsibilities:Driving the analytics implementation to meet organizational goals and initiativesMeasuring ongoing success of analytics after go live and making necessary adjustmentsReviewing upgrade documentation related to analytics tools and content and determining how to implement, disseminate, and train the changesAssisting the Business Intelligence Developers in identifying the right solution for each requestConfiguring and testing Epic released and Foundation System content for all applications, including Reporting Workbench SlicerDicer Radar Cogito SQLCreating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and CaboodleWriting SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metricsCreating new reports and Modifying existing reports, as necessaryDistributing analytics content to data consumersReviewing peer reports for validityWorking with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumersMaintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata recordsTesting analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environmentsReviewing upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determining how to implement the changes BIDs might also be responsible for building and maintaining:Cubes ExtractsSlicerDicer custom filtersThird party BI toolsEpic data in CaboodleAnalyzing non Caboodle datasets to identify required data elements to be moved into CaboodleMapping non Epic datasets to existing database structures within CaboodleDesigning and developing custom database structures within Caboodle as neededCoordinating the implementation and long term support activities related to aggregating claims from the external payer sources into Caboodle.Required skills:3+ years of Epic Data Architecture and Integration experience10+ years focused technical work within a data and ETLExpert knowledge of Epic modules, terminology, data stores (Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle) and Hyperspace self-service reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer models and Radar Dashboards.Strong working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDs etc.)Experience performing data discovery, analysis, and profilingExperience creating logical source-to-target mappings which data can useExperience designing and building solutions that ingest data via APIsVery strong SQL query language skillsBusiness and technical requirements elicitation, analysis, and elaboration experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong consulting, problem-solving, and customer relationship skillsAbility to navigate HL7, CDA, and flat file formatted dataKey Competencies:Leading, coordinating, and facilitating effective meetingsStrong communication skillsUser focused design and data visualization skillsProficiency with SQL and relational database conceptsProficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics toolsFamiliarity with Epic applications and database structure, through training that occurs early in the implementationAbility to gain an in depth understanding of the data model through data model classes geared toward content areasAbility to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environmentFor financial reporting: Prior experience working with an AR system is desirable, but not requiredFor clinical reporting: Prior experience working with an EMR system is desirable, but not requiredUnderstanding of system build, end user workflows, and patterns of useCertifications:Access Data Model CertificationClinical Data Model CertificationRevenue Data Model CertificationCogito Fundamentals CertificationCogito Tools AdministrationBadges for Radar SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Build, and Cogito SQLJ-18808-Ljbffr
