Cytogenetic Analyst - US Remote

Labcorp is seeking a remote Cytogenetics Analyst to join our team that’s based in Brentwood, TN.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm ResponsibilitiesPerform FISH analysis, which includes analysis and imaging of digitized imagesCytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized imagesReview of cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documentsReview test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysisSummarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclatureDistinguish between normal and abnormal test resultsMonitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment, software and applications to ensure proper functionality.Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.Reports any and all problems to the general supervisor in a timely mannerCollaborates with general supervisor on protocol/policy development and reviewProvides feedback to senior technologists on technical mattersUnderstands and complies with company policies and proceduresMaintain a safe work environment.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical TechnologyASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)1 year or more experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology CytogeneticsPreferred Qualifications2 years or more experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized imagesAdditional Job StandardsIn lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plusHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screenFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsThis role focuses on onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work, using digital platforms such as Metasystem (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI).No wet lab or bench work—this position is fully analysis‑based.At Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
