Director Tax

The RoleThe Director of Corporate Tax will lead corporate tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and risk management across U.S. federal, state, local, and Canadian jurisdictions. This role partners closely with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and external advisors, and plays a key role in tax planning, M&A support, audits, and financial reporting within a complex, multi-entity environment.ResponsibilitiesLead corporate tax strategy and planning to optimize the effective tax rate while ensuring complianceOversee U.S. and Canadian income tax compliance, including federal, state, local, and indirect taxesManage quarterly and annual tax provisions under GAAP (ASC 740)Lead tax audits and inquiries with U.S. and Canadian tax authoritiesEvaluate tax impacts of acquisitions, restructuring, and cross-border transactionsDevelop and mentor tax team members and enhance tax processes, systems, and controlsSupport integration with parent company tax strategies and reporting requirementsQualificationsBachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master\'s in Tax preferred)CPA required10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience (public accounting and/or large multi-entity organizations)Strong technical expertise in U.S. federal, state, and Canadian tax, including ASC 740Proven leadership experience and ability to partner with senior finance and business leadersExperience with tax systems such as OneSource, Planful, Power BI, Blackline, or similar tools preferredEEO Notice: Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics as required by law.
