The role includes conducting intake assessments, planning and providing nursing care, administering medications, and collaborating with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design appropriate treatment plans.Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history. Plan and provide individualized nursing care for patients. Make nursing diagnoses regarding medical and emotional status and recommend treatment options. Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design and implement treatment plans. Administer psychotropic drugs and monitor patient reactions. Ensure further medical attention is arranged when necessary. Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and the need for treatment. Document all patient information accurately on medical charts and follow physician orders. Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate records of treatments and immunizations. Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones and completing progress notes.Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Valid NY RN License. BLS Certification from the American Heart Association. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting.
