If you have a passion for pediatric speech development, neurogenic communication challenges in adults, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation in the elderly, you will find both fulfillment and flexibility in this rewarding environment.DescriptionAssess clients of various age groups, from children to seniors, employing standardized testing and observational methods.Create customized treatment plans aimed at both immediate objectives and long-term communication and cognitive goals.Provide personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language skills, fluency, voice functionality, and swallowing difficulties.Collaborate with a network of professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to establish integrated care plans.Educate patients and their families to ensure continued progress outside of therapy sessions.Incorporate occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.Keep precise and timely documentation in line with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.Engage in ongoing professional development and knowledge-sharing with colleagues to stay abreast of advancements in speech-language pathology.EducationMaster's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been achieved. CertificationsCurrent state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment. SkillsExpertise in evidence-based treatments suitable for all ages, with a strong grasp of developmental and acquired speech and language disorders.Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care staff.Able to tailor therapy to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.Sound clinical judgment and analytical skills for effective problem-solving.Proficient in electronic medical records and compliance with documentation standards.
