Senior Cost Accountant – Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting

A well-established, industry-leading manufacturing company is seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with inventory costing, month-end close, financial reporting, and cross-functional business partners in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.The Cost Accountant will play an important role in supporting accurate product costing, inventory analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, internal controls, and process improvements across multiple business entities.Why Join Us?We offer a stable, collaborative work environment with strong benefits and opportunities to grow your accounting career within a respected manufacturing organization.Benefits include:Generous paid time offCompetitive medical, dental, and wellness programsCompany-paid disability and life insuranceRetirement plan optionsEmployee purchase discount programWhat You’ll DoSupport month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal control proceduresReview journal entries submitted by plant finance teams for accuracy and completenessEnter approved journal entries into the ERP systemPerform inventory costing for new and existing productsSupport ad hoc costing requests from manufacturing plants and new product development teamsAssist with the annual standard cost calculation and review processAnalyze inventory costs to identify errors, trends, and root causesReview costs related to materials, labor, overhead, and bills of materialsPartner with accounting, operations, and other business teams to improve processes and strengthen financial reporting accuracyCommunicate findings clearly to colleagues and leadershipEnsure accounting work is completed in accordance with GAAPSupport SOX, SEC, audit, and compliance-related reporting requirementsAssist with special projects and other finance-related requests as neededOccasional late nights or weekend work may be required during close, audit, or project deadlines.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred; equivalent related experience may be consideredCPA or CMA license, or active pursuit of CPA/CMA, preferredPrior accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance experience preferredStrong Microsoft Office skills, especially ExcelExperience with Power BI preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teamsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accurate financial reportingEqual Opportunity EmployerThe company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
