Cake Decorator
Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and passion for the art of cake decorating to craft beautiful and delicious confections for our customers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary skills in a fast-paced food production environment, ensuring each cake meets high standards of quality and presentation. Previous experience in food handling, pastry arts, or related culinary fields is highly valued. The Cake Decorator will be responsible for transforming baked goods into visually stunning desserts that delight our clients and elevate their special occasions.
Responsibilities
Decorate cakes and pastries with intricate designs, themes, and personalized touches using various decorating techniques and tools
Prepare cakes for display or order by applying frosting, piping, and other decorative elements
Package finished products carefully to maintain quality during transport and presentation
Assist with food preparation tasks including baking, mixing, and assembling desserts as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards
Ensure all decorating materials are stored properly and used efficiently
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Qualifications
Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or culinary arts within a bakery, restaurant, or catering environment
Strong skills in cake decorating techniques such as piping, airbrushing, and sculpting
Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and proper sanitation practices
Ability to operate kitchen equipment including mixers, knives, and decorating tools safely and effectively
Experience with food production, baking, and general food preparation preferred
Excellent attention to detail with a creative eye for design and presentation
Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist customers when needed
Prior experience in the food industry or catering is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is appreciated
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when handling supplies and equipment.
Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to use hands for extended periods while icing, piping, and crafting intricate designs.
Shift Details
Full-time, hourly position.
Expected hours per week: 30 - 40 hours.
8 hour, day shift.
Early hours and weekend availability required.
