Kumon Math and Reading/Writing Tutor

Kumon is an after-school math and reading program that employs a unique learning method designed to help each child master the basics of math and reading, as well as, develop the skills needed to perform to his or her full potential. We are seeking an individual who possess a strong academic background in reading and math. Good grades in Math and English/Reading are essential for the job position. High school and College students are highly encouraged to apply. Our center is located at Sacramento, Greenhaven area; this is a year-round position. Candidate should possess the following qualities: The position is for two days per week, and the candidate must be available year-round on Wednesdays 2 – 7 PM and Saturdays 10:00 – 2:30 PM. English skills (pronunciation, grammar, comprehension, etc.) Math skills (algebra, pre-calculus, etc.) A passion for working with children of all ages A belief in each person’s unlimited potential A belief in the power of self-learning Have strong multi-tasking, organizational, and communication skills Energetic & proactive (e.g. ability to work well under pressure) Be enthusiastic and able to motivate young students Must be patient and enjoy working with young children A willingness to continually learn about the Kumon method Grade student worksheets Assist young students with phonics Must be punctual and reliable Experience working in Kumon Math & Reading Center is preferred but not required. Candidates will be fully trained. If over the age of 18, the candidate must pass a standard background check.
